As production of the lighter, more powerful, more advanced 2016 Camaro grows near, Chevrolet revealed more details to help customers tailor their Gen Six exactly how they want it, including pricing information and an online visualizer.
The 2016 Camaro offers higher levels of performance, technology and refinement, starting at a suggested retail price of $26,695 for the Camaro 1LT, while the most powerful Camaro SS ever starts at $37,295 for the 1SS.
The new accessories visualizer allows customers to view many personalization features on the 2016 Camaro, including interior and exterior colors, wheels, stripes, and accessory options.
“The all-new 2016 Camaro builds on what made the Camaro the segment leader for five years,” said Todd Christensen, Camaro marketing manager. “It will reset the bar in the segment with even greater levels of performance, new technologies not found on any other car in the segment, and more choices that enable customers to take personalization farther than ever before.”

After what seems like a long winter and a spring that just won’t quite come I made it to my first car event today. I didn’t get to partake in the whole cruise, but fortunately I was able meet up with the crew at one of the stops which luckily was just down the road from the IG world head quarters. It seems like it’s been forever since I saw my friends at the White Hall Drag O Way and Jersey County Street machine Association and was it nice to get out and see them again. Oh yeah, and their cars.
The best thing about a cruise is you get to see, hear, and smell the cars doing what they are supposed to be doing, driving! Car shows are cool, car cruises are where it’s at. Plenty more after the jump. Just click the continue reading button.

The Best Driver’s Car contenders are selected from all new or significantly revised performance cars launched in the 12 months prior to the test. To pick the winner, the editors of Motor Trend conduct objective and subjective testing – including digitally instrumented laps at the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, and high-speed driving up and down a 4.3-mile hill climb on a closed rural highway – to determine which car delivers the most engaging experience behind the wheel.
After completing that battery of tests, the editors of Motor Trend wrote:
“The transformation of the fifth-generation Camaro from ‘muscle car that handles pretty well’ to Best Driver’s Car winner is astounding. You feel the superior engineering in how the car responds to inputs both internal and external. From within, the car reacts immediately and precisely to your commands but doesn’t punish your mistakes. From the outside, the Z/28’s suspension attacks bumps and dips with an unbridled passion for keeping the tires on the pavement.”

Car shows are fun and it’s certainly a great place to take the family and see some great pieces of automotive engineering. I’m glad they exists because it’s important to have these shiny pristine examples for the world to see. However I’d trade ten car shows for one day of cruising. Today was that day. The day started off very wet and while some spirits were dampened and some owners decided to keep their cars in the garage a small but mighty crew turned out to hit the open road in the name of American muscle.
I would get the luxury of riding shot gun in one bad ass fifth gen Camaro that I’ve showed you before here on IG. The pilot on our rocket ship Brenton and I have more in common then just a love for cars. Both of us are also bass guitarist and farmers. Needless today there was no lack of good conversation in our car. Mainly though it was about cars and I was fortunate enough to spend the day in his 500+hp rocket ship. LS3 powered, cammed, and a mean exhaust meant when we rolled into a little town everyone took notice.

Movies and cars go back as far as movies. Sometimes the cars in the movies become the stars themselves. Examples like the Bullet Mustang or the Dodge Charger in the Fast and Furious. With the Transformers series Chevy so a prime example as a place to get the new Camaro out to the world. That trend has continued through all of the transformers movies.
It eventually would inspire a special edition Camaro. Bumblebee.
